Project name: Young and Free CashBack Project

Age range: 14-25 years

The Young and Free Cashback Project is an anti-human trafficking prevention project which provides holistic support and advocacy for young people aged 14 to 25 and their families who are particularly vulnerable or have been impacted by forced criminality and exploitation. It utilises engaging physical and creative activities to raise awareness of and build resilience to exploitation through targeted outreach, one to one and therapeutic interventions.

The project:
-nurtures a sense of safety and stabilises mental wellbeing, improving the ability empowering young people to be active and responsible in their own advocacy
-strengthens knowledge and skills for young people to confidently and competently navigate circumstances that would otherwise pose the risk of exploitation or re-exploitation
-uses the law to access rights and entitlements, giving young people agency.

Young people engaging with the project can expect to be able to:
-identify and secure basic needs and resources
-protect themselves from physical dangers
-identify and avoid re-exploitation risks
-skilfully communicate with their lawyer
-navigate the risks of sofa surfing and rough sleeping
-look after their mental wellbeing
-access and communicate effectively with their GP
-advocate for their rights and entitlements
-create strong social connections
-make decisions about their future
-participate in a leadership role.
