GMAC Cashback uses filmmaking as a hook to engage young people (14 – 25 years) in learning, and supports them to develop the confidence, skills, and aspirations to progress into further learning/training opportunities.
Engagement – 259 total participants
GMAC Cashback will deliver outreach activities to engage with young people from the most disadvantaged communities of Glasgow and its surrounding areas.
Learning and development – 159 core group within 259 total participation
GMAC Cashback provides a range of progression opportunities:
- Young people will engage in an intensive filmmaking training programme, where they will build their skills and confidence in film-making
- In the final year, 15 young people will progress onto GMAC Action, where they work in partnership with 15 community members to research, develop and make a film about an issue in their community.
Progression
Through their participation in GMAC Cashback, young people get the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, raising their awareness of career opportunities in the screen industries, and learning about training and education routes into the sector. Participants will get one-to-one support to develop their skills and interests and to identify progression routes and support them on their pathways toward education, training, volunteering, and employment.
