Project name: CashBack for Young Parents

Age range: 16-25 years

CashBack for Young Parents supports families in Fife in areas of deprivation and dealing with the impact of sexual violence and coercive relationships. Our project is delivered in partnership with Fife Gingerbread.

The programme has three strands:

  • One-to-one support
A Fife Gingerbread Project Worker delivers needs-led, one-to-one support for young parents.
  • Group sessions
Our Starcatchers artists deliver weekly group sessions in two different locations in Fife throughout the year. We use the creative arts as a shared experience for the young parents and their children to help nurture peer support, engage with the local community, and increase wellbeing and confidence.
  • Mellow Ready
Our 12 week training course on positive relationships at local high schools, co-delivered by Fife Gingerbread and young parents. This training programme, led by young people with lived experience, aims to support young teens to develop awareness of healthy relationships and break the cycle of violence and intergenerational trauma.

This three-pronged approach offers young parents specialist support in mental health, positive relationships, attachment, play, and child development, with the aim of improving mental health, social and emotional wellbeing, and community connections.
