Project name: CashBack Burnfoot Youth Project
Age range: 10-25 years
The CashBack Burnfoot Youth Project will deliver a structured, year-round programme of activities and targeted support for young people aged 10-25 in Burnfoot. A project coordinator and sessional staff will lead delivery, working alongside partner organisations including Escape Youth Services, G10 Sports, Hawick Boxing Club and A Positive Start CIC to provide specialist sessions.
The programme will include weekly two hour sessions featuring the following activities; Multi-sport sessions will run over 36 weeks at the local primary school, supporting up to 30 young people.
Rugby sessions will run for 36 weeks, indoors and outdoors, engaging up to 30 young people.
Boxing sessions will take place over 24 weeks at the primary school, supporting up to 50 young people.
Youth club sessions will run over 46 weeks at Burnfoot Community Hub, providing structured activities and informal learning for up-to 70 young people.
Youth café sessions will also take place over 46 weeks at the Hub, offering a safe and welcoming space for up to 30 young people each week.
The project will also deliver a 35 week programme of Junior Global Ambassador sessions for 20 young people, helping them develop confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.
The programme’s dedicated street based one-to-one youth workers will engage young people in the community, building relationships and encouraging them to take part in activities. One-to-one youth workers will provide tailored support to those who need extra help, offering guidance and consistent support to help them stay involved and make positive choices.
