Project name: TD1 CashBack Extra
Age range: 10-18 years
TD1 CashBack Extra delivers targeted youth work for young people aged 10-18 in Galashiels and Langlee who are affected by poverty, trauma, exclusion, or risk-taking behaviour.
The project runs two structured group sessions each week, using activities and discussion to build confidence, emotional regulation, decision-making skills, and practical life tools. Young people co-design themes and content with youth workers to keep sessions relevant and engaging.
Weekend drop-ins and street-based outreach operate on Friday evenings and Saturdays, providing safe spaces, trusted adult support, and positive alternatives at peak times for antisocial behaviour. Youth workers engage informally, de-escalate conflict, and support young people already in trouble to reflect on their actions, repair relationships, and make safer choices.
A weekly outreach session in Langlee brings support directly to an area with limited youth provision. An additional youth worker strengthens the team, ensuring young people can move smoothly between outreach, drop-ins, group sessions, and one-to-one support as their needs change.
All sessions are delivered by trained staff who build trusted relationships over time, creating consistent, accessible support that helps young people feel safe, connected, and able to shape positive futures.
