This programme uses music to support care experienced young people at risk of anti-social and/or criminal behaviour in Rothesay and Dunoon (Argyll & Bute), using a tested model that has achieved demonstrable impact in two other local authority areas in recent years. Through weekly small group sessions that prioritise nurture, trust and relationships, we aim for improvements in school attendance, engagement with education, and the development of social and emotional skills, including confidence and emotional regulation. Recognising the trauma these young people have experienced in their lives, positive safe spaces are created by a team of artists and wellbeing workers for learning, socialising and participating in the community in meaningful ways. Personal skills development, qualifications and accreditations lead to positive destinations for those most at risk from the inherent proximity to the criminal justice system as linked to being care experienced.

Regular year-round music sessions for care experienced young people aged 10-17 take place in welcoming creative spaces, led by trauma-informed musicians and wellbeing workers. In addition to group work, the young people receive 1:1 support from their worker, as well as routes to positive destinations including re-entering school, starting training, or entering the workforce. Families and carers around the children and young people are encouraged to get involved at key points in the calendar to enjoy music-based events together.
