Project name: CashBack Cumnock – Play, Lead, Succeed
Age range: 10-25 years
CashBack Cumnock: Play, Lead, Succeed is a three-year programme delivered from the Townhead Community Sports Hub between 2026 and 2029. The project will support 150 young people aged 10 to 25 from Cumnock and surrounding communities who face challenges such as exclusion from school, poverty, trauma, substance misuse, or involvement with the justice system.
The project delivers regular football sessions during evenings and school holidays, providing safe and structured activities at times when young people are most at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour. A dedicated programme for young adults aged 16 to 25 supports those in recovery or needing additional stability, while outreach sessions at Pebbles Academy in Muirkirk engage care-experienced young people who may not otherwise access community activities.
As young people build confidence and trust, they are supported to take part in leadership opportunities through the Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise (CJCE) Leadership Academy. Participants gain coaching qualifications, volunteer experience, and recognition through national youth awards, helping them develop skills for further training, employment, and positive community involvement.
The programme is delivered by experienced coaches who provide consistent support and positive role models. Through regular participation, young people improve wellbeing, develop relationships, and increase their engagement with education, training, and community life, contributing to safer and more connected local communities.
