CashBack North Edinburgh Futures is a universal youth work programme for young people aged 10-15 in North West Edinburgh. We provide safe, welcoming spaces in the evenings and at weekends – times when young people tell us they need positive places to go and when risks of antisocial or criminal behaviour are often highest. We focus on early intervention, building strong relationships, and creating opportunities that grow confidence, skills and a sense of belonging. Our programme includes:

– Universal youth work sessions
Young people shape what we do, helping plan evening activities, workshops, trips and residentials. We engage at least 150 young people each year.
– Short term one to one participation support
For those who find it harder to join in, we provide individual support to reduce barriers and build confidence so they can take part in group sessions.
– Group work and learning opportunities
We run creative and hands on activities such as virtual reality workshops and urban skills sessions. We also work with partners in arts, music, sport, and health.
– Progression and accredited learning
Young people can gain recognition for their achievements through accredited awards and leadership pathways.

By bringing young people together in local community spaces, the programme builds positive peer networks, offers new experiences and provides real alternatives to unsafe behaviour. Young people also document their learning to create a toolkit that supports future preventative work.
