Project name: CashBack Community Changemakers
Age range: 12-18 years
Fearless’ CashBack Community Changemakers supports young people aged 12-18, who are, or have been, in conflict with the law to lead real change in their lives and communities. Through creative projects involving activities such as film making, music, social media, podcasting and event delivery, young people design and deliver their own community safety campaigns.
Each group chooses the issue they want to explore, the creative approach they use and how their message is shared. This gives participants real ownership of their work while building confidence, communication skills and teamwork. It also creates space to reflect on the impact of crime in a safe, well-supported setting.
The project works directly with 360 young people across six areas of Scotland over three years. Delivery takes place in a range of settings, including secure care and in community environments, working alongside trusted local partners to ensure sessions are safe and responsive to individual needs. Participants are encouraged to continue their involvement after completing the programme through volunteering and leadership roles, helping shape future groups and activities.
Campaigns created by the young people reach hundreds of thousands of their peers across Scotland, spreading practical, credible prevention messages.
CashBack Community Changemakers creates lasting impact by giving young people real power to influence, lead and contribute to safer communities.
