Project name: CashBack – Towards New Futures
Age range: 13-25 years
CashBack for Communities – Towards New Futures is a person centred, wellbeing/employability programme which re-engages people aged between 16 to 25 with current or past convictions or who have experience of the criminal justice system, and helps them move towards a more positive future including employment, training, volunteering or further education.
The programme also supports younger candidates aged 13 to 15 who have been involved in antisocial, offending/reoffending behaviour (particularly gang culture) within their local communities and who are disengaging from their education. With the aim of stopping cycles of criminal behaviour, we will support young people to gain awards through our Qualifications Scotland centre status, and help them reengage within their school education establishment.
The projects are delivered within our refurbished Ibrox Community Complex space and work in partnership with employers and sector specialists to provide a person centred and bespoke provision for all candidates. Our nomination/recruitment process works in partnership with a number of stakeholders such as Scottish Prison Service, secure units, social work departments (including Youth Courts/Children and Families), schools. Police Scotland as well as a range of other partners help make sure that we target/support the most vulnerable young people from the local area of Glasgow and further afield.
Our programmes provide a safe space which allows the young person to flourish and have proven track record of enhancing candidates’ pathways towards more positive and sustained destinations, including reintegration within their communities.
Post course aftercare is provided, including access to an in-house Trauma Counselling Service.
