Project name: Generation CashBack
Age range: 10-25 years
Generation CashBack is run with Youth Scotland, Scouts Scotland, Girlguiding Scotland and the Boys’ Brigade. We support disadvantaged young people across Scotland to benefit from community-based youth work, leadership, and peer mentoring.
The project has two strands:
- Grow
Generation CashBack staff help new and existing youth groups to grow their offer for young people. Using a needs-analysis approach, we support Grow groups to increase their focus on tackling antisocial behaviour, delivering diversionary activity, and providing activities that improve young people’s mental health and wellbeing. This includes:- Helping groups recruit new volunteers
- Training youth workers
- Providing advice and guidance
- Delivering new activities
- Small scale capacity-building funding for essential resources and running costs
- Lead
Generation CashBack staff support young people to develop new skills which improve their educational and employability options. We support young people to put these skills into practice in their communities, developing their leadership skills, while gaining a range of youth awards through each consortium partner. Awards are designed to meet young people’s needs, enabling them to develop their pathways into further learning and employment. View a selection of our Lead Opportunities. As part of the Lead strand we run an annual event bringing together young people and youth workers from across the consortium, Reach. The event is designed by young people, for young people. Read more about Reach.
