Reach for Your Voice

12th March 2024

Over the weekend, charity partners from Generation CashBack got together for a youth-led event Reach for Your Voice.

The event is themed around youth voice and the importance of young people feeling empowered to share their opinions and contribute to wider society.

Over 100 children and young people from across Scotland gathered at The Boardwalk in the Merchant City area of Glasgow, taking part in workshops to increase confidence and think about their emotional wellbeing.

Minister for  Victims and Community Safety, Siobhian Brown MSP also came along for the afternoon taking part in some of the workshops.

Community Safety Minister Siobhian Brown said:

“It was great to see the hard work and determination that young people put into designing and planning the Reach for Your Voice Generation CashBack event. There is so much to learn from youth-led events like this where groups come together to connect and share ideas.

“The Cashback for Communities programme reinvests money recovered from criminals under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.  We are investing up to £20 million in the CashBack programme between 2023 and 2026. This will fund 29 third sector organisations to provide a wide range of activities, opportunities and support for young people, families and communities across Scotland.”

Generation CashBack is led by Youth Scotland and brings together Girlguiding Scotland, Boys’ Brigade and Scouts Scotland. Find out more about Generation CashBack here.
