About CashBack for Communities

CashBack for Communities is a unique Scottish Government programme which reinvests criminal assets recovered through the Proceeds of Crime Act to provide support to young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system and communities impacted by crime.  Since 2008, £130 million has been committed to community initiatives to improve the quality of life of young people right across Scotland.

This report contains details of CashBack for Communities funded activities and projects within your local authority area, covering the programme’s achievements in supporting young people since the programme’s inception in 2008 up to 2022.

The short animation below describes the CashBack for Communities programme and the life-changing impacts it has had for thousands of young people across Scotland.

CashBack for Communities’ 24 Phase 5 Partners deliver activities ranging from diversionary youth work to more long-term potentially life-changing intervention projects through to the end of March 2023. The 29 CashBack Partners active in Phase 6 begin delivery in April 2023.

This page identifies which CashBack Partner projects or young people from this local authority have been supported by CashBack for Communities.

Please Note: Activity numbers represent the total number of activities and opportunities that young people have taken advantage of as a result of CashBack funding. It should be noted that CashBack partners may have worked with some of the same young people over a number of years. Therefore, the total annual activity and opportunity figures might not directly correlate to the number of individual young people who have benefited from the programme.
