World Refugee Day: Community, Belonging, and Recovery through CashBack for Communities 

World Refugee Day, 20 June, provides an opportunity to recognise the experiences of people seeking safety and the support available to help them rebuild their lives. 

In Scotland, this support is shaped by a rights-based, trauma-informed approach.

RM’s Development Through the Cashback Programme

CashBack Achieving Goals by Scottish Football Association uses the power of football to provide young people with routes to learn, build confidence and skills, volunteer, and gain qualifications to divert them from taking part in antisocial behaviour or involvement in the justice system. 

The project has three strands: Alternative Football, Alternative Education, and Volunteer Inspire Programme

Phase 7 CashBack For Communities Launch

Phase 7 of the CashBack for Communities programme will run from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029 with an increased overall programme budget of up to £26 million.

Since 2008 CashBack for Communities has invested £156 million and supported around 1.4 million young people across all 32 local authorities in Scotland.
