Impact Arts’ CashBack to the Future summer 2019 programme!

Impact Arts’ CashBack to the Future summer 2019 programme!

Young people in Scotland are invited now to sign up for an unforgettable summer of creativity this July on Impact Arts’ CashBack to the Future programme.

CashBack to the Future will offer free masterclasses in visual arts, digital art, music, drama and performance to 12-19 year olds facing barriers to inclusion.

Workshops will run this July in Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Renfrewshire.

Over 200 young people will take part across five local authorities, before coming together for a live showcase performance at Glasgow’s iconic and historic Barrowlands music venue.

Impact Arts have officially launched the recruitment campaign for the summer with a short trailer which can be viewed here:

This is the third year that CashBack to the Future has run thanks to CashBack for Communities Phase 4 funding.

Over 530 young people have engaged in the workshops, getting the chance to work with high-quality, high-profile professional artists and performers as part of group-directed workshops.

As well as building confidence and passing on new creative techniques, engagement has helped young people make positive life choices and re-engage with education.

Over 480 young people have also gained Arts Award accreditations as part of CashBack to the Future, while plans are in place this summer to offer young people this year the chance to work towards a Dynamic Youth Achievement award.

Natalie McFadyen White is Impact Arts’ Head of Delivery. She says the Impact Arts team are excited to bring  CashBack workshops to even more young people this year:

“CashBack to the Future is about offering amazing creative experiences to young people who would otherwise have difficulties accessing similar programmes.

“It’s about bringing high-calibre artists, brilliant materials and equipment, into a fun, friendly, high-paced and creative environment and watching young people ideas develop and flourish.

“We have again assembled a superb creative team and having a cultural landmark like the Barrowland ballroom set for the finale just adds to the air of anticipation.”

Workshops will run from Tuesday – Friday every week from July 2nd until July 26th at:

  • Edinburgh: National Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street
  • Glasgow: Glasgow Kelvin College’s Haghill Campus
  • Renfrewshire: Tannahill Centre, Ferguslie Park
  • North Ayrshire: Impact Arts, 60 Bank Street, Irvine
  • East Ayrshire: Venue TBC in Kilmarnock
