World Youth Skills Day 2022

25th August 2022

CashBack partners featured at an employability event for HMP and YOI Polmont with a vision of ‘Transforming Youth Skills for the Future.’

CashBack partners Access to Industry, Celtic FC Foundation, Rangers Charity Foundation, and Barnardo’s Scotland joined with HMP and YOI Polmont to deliver an employability event in recognition of World Youth Skills Day. Other key organisations that were represented at the event were, The Verdancy Group, Tigers LTD, Springboard, Anna Walls Consultancy, and Fife College.

UNESCO was a great event allowing all Access to Industry partners working within Polmont to showcase their opportunities. All those attending had the freedom to browse and converse with associates, making them aware of all the opportunities within Polmont. Not only within the establishment, but also offering options for many post liberation in continuing their personal and professional developments.

Access to Industry’s Passport CashBack project provides a service for young people aged 16 to 22 in HMP YOI Polmont that increases their employability skills prior to liberation. On liberation from Polmont, it will support them into jobs, college and training. The project will consider all young people in Polmont as having the potential to build skills towards employment, regardless of length of sentence.

CashBack partners Celtic FC Foundation, Rangers Charity Foundation and Barnardo’s Scotland work alongside Access to Industry to support the delivery of Passport CashBack and have their own CashBack projects which provide bespoke employability programmes for young people with offending backgrounds. The CashBack partners support young people through training, mentorships and workshops to build their confidence, resilience and skills.

The World Youth Skills Day event at Polmont highlighted CashBack’s dedication to supporting young people with offending backgrounds into sustained positive destinations.
