CashBack celebrated Women and Girls in Sport Week earlier this month.

The Week provides a chance to inspire and support every woman and girl in Scotland to get active. This year celebrates inclusion and encourages all women and girls, no matter who they are or what their ability, to get involved. The Week also seeks to highlight the great benefits that sport and physical activity can bring to physical, mental and social health.

Together we’re inspiring more of Scotland’s women and girls  to get active.

CashBack for Communities funds a range of activities which supports, champions and helps to break down barriers for women and girls to be more active.

Young people from YDance, Scottish Sports Futures, Scottish Football Association, and basketballscotland shared what being involved in sports means to them and how the CashBack funded activity helps.

A young person involved in Scottish Sports Futures, CashBack Changing Lives programme said: “ Being involved in sports helps me because it’s built my confidence.  I’ve met loads of new pals, I’ve met staff that I can look up to.”

According to L, “Seeing women represented in sport inspires me to push myself on to bigger and better things and take more opportunities.”
