Chance:2:Be launches in Govan

31st May 2022

Scottish Sports Futures (SSF) Chance:2:Be Programme 3 Govan launched at the end of January with 7 young people attending every week. This programme is a personal development programme for young people aged 15+ who enjoy sport and physical activity and not engaging in education, employment or training. Throughout the 12 week programme we have been delivering different activities and accreditation for the young people to gain confidence, receive training, develop teamwork skills, gain accreditation and gain new experiences. The young people attend twice a week – Wednesdays and Fridays. The Govan SSF Chance:2:Be is based at Harmony Row Youth Club.

The young people loved their time at Pinkston Water Sports. They all took part in paddle boarding and enjoyed trying this new sport for them. The young people cannot wait to go back again.

“That was quality. I had such a good day.” –

For the Celebration day, all the 3 SSF Chance:2:Be programmes came together from Glasgow and went to Auchengillan for the day to take part in Archery, Canoeing, Axe Throwing & Rock Climbing, this was a great day bringing 30 young people together from our different areas of Glasgow to take part in new experiences.

That was well fun BTW I love it.

It was great to see all the young people coming together and having the confidence to go out their comfort zone and try new activities, they have all been amazing throughout the day and throughout the programme.
