“This is a dream come true” – Celtic FC Foundation CashBack graduate Joe tells his story

Born with no arms and scoliosis of the spine, 24-year-old Joe Mearns is now a community coach with Celtic FC Foundation and says it is a dream come true.

Despite his willingness to overcome hurdles and his remarkable strength of spirit, Joe struggled to find a job.

After joining Celtic’s CashBack for Communities Gateway to Employment programme, Joe found people who believed in his abilities and his confidence grew. After completing the course, he started a job with the club and is now working on his fifth coaching qualification.

Joe now coaches with children and young people, particularly those with disabilities, and is able to share his amazing journey.
